Ingredients:
- 8 slices dry-cured ham (approximately 60 g)
- 8 slices semi-hard cow's milk cheese (approximately 120 g)
- 8 slices white bread
- 4 tbsp (60 g) butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup pitted dates, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup leaves basilica, tear into pieces
Preparation:
- Spread butter on one side of the bread slices.
Heat a large skillet to medium heat. Place two slices of bread, butter side down, on top of each. Top with two slices of ham and one slice of cheese. Then top with a quarter of each of the dates and basil, and another slice of cheese.
Cover the sandwiches with the other slices of bread, butter side up.
- Grill the sandwiches, pressing lightly with a spatula, until the cheese is melted, 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining ingredients and grill two more sandwiches.
