Hawaiian Pepperoni Pizza topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 2 tsp chopped garlic
- 2 tsp chopped peeled ginger
- 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil
- Coarse salt
- 1/2 cup tomato puree
- 450 g ready-made pizza dough, room temperature (For the pizza dough recipe, see here.)
- Wheat and corn flour, for dusting
- 1 cup of grated cheese mixture (mozzarella, provolone, Cheddar and/or parmesan)
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni sausage
- 1/2 cup diced pineapple
- 1 fresh red chili pepper, thinly sliced
- Fresh mint leaves and hot sauce
Preparation:
- Place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven and preheat to 250°C.
- In a food processor, puree the garlic, ginger, vegetable oil, and a pinch of salt. Mix 1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste with the tomato puree.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface into a 30cm circle. Transfer to another baking sheet and sprinkle with cornmeal. Slide the pizza onto the hot baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes.
- Remove the pizza from the oven. Top with tomato puree, sprinkle with cheese, pepperoni, pineapple cubes, and chili pepper.
- Return the pizza to the oven and continue baking until the cheese is melted, another 8 to 10 minutes. Remove pizza Remove from oven and cool for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with mint leaves and drizzle with hot sauce.
