Asparagus wrapped in bacon

Ingredients:

  • 700 g asparagus (cut into 7-10 cm lengths)
  • Olive oil
  • A few pinches of black pepper
  • 4 slices smoked or dry-cured bacon
  • Chives or green onions, for garnish

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. Drizzle the asparagus with a little olive oil and sprinkle with black pepper. Count the total amount of asparagus and divide it into approximately 4 portions. Gather one portion of the asparagus spears and wrap them in bacon. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  3. For the grill: Place the bacon-wrapped asparagus on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes until the bacon is crisp and the asparagus is tender and soft.
  4. For the oven: Place all ingredients in a baking dish and bake for 12 minutes.
