Ingredients:

    Jerk sauce

  • 0.5 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 2-3 lemons)
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup store-bought jerk sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Cajun seasoning
  • 1-2 tbsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 small red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 large jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed

    Vegetables

  • 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
  • 2 carrots, cut into 7cm sticks.
  • 1 medium zucchini, cut into 7cm sticks.
  • 1 small red bell pepper, cut into 7cm sticks.

    Cutlets

  • Canola oil to grease the grill
  • 1 kg of ground beef
  • 4 sesame seed burger buns, cut in half horizontally

Preparation:

  1. Prepare jerk sauce:

In a bowl, combine lemon juice, olive oil, store-bought jerk sauce, Cajun seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Add the bell pepper, jalapeño, and garlic, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Prepare the vegetables:

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Add the carrots, zucchini, and bell pepper, season with salt, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables have softened slightly, about 5 minutes. Add 1/4 cup of the prepared jerk sauce and cook until the vegetables are glazed, another 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and cover to keep warm.
  3. Grill the patties:

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and brush the grates with canola oil. Form the ground beef into four 2-cm-thick patties and season generously with salt and black pepper. Grill for about 4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Meanwhile, lightly toast the buns.
  4. Serve the cutlets on buns with the stewed vegetables on top.
