Yorkshire pudding

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup rendered fat with juices from beef roast

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 230°C.
  2. Sift flour and salt into a bowl. In another bowl, beat the eggs and milk until lightly foamy. Stir in the dry ingredients until fully incorporated.
  3. Pour the rendered fat into a 9-inch (22-cm) pie dish, cast-iron skillet, or square baking pan. Place the pan in the oven and heat until the fat is smoking. Carefully remove the pan from the oven and pour in the batter. Return to the oven and bake until the pudding is puffed and dry, 15 to 20 minutes.
