Pork ham with beans in barbecue sauce in a slow cooker

Ingredients:

  • 450 g dried white beans, sorted
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 0.5 cups ketchup
  • 1/4 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1.5 tbsp molasses
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 pork leg on the bone weighing 2-3 kg.

Preparation:

  1. In a 6-quart slow cooker, combine the beans, 3 cups water, onion, ketchup, maple syrup, brown sugar, mustard, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Top with the ham, cover, and cook on high for 8 hours.
  2. Transfer the meat to a platter and skim off any excess fat from the beans. Slice the meat and serve with the beans.
