Patbingsu (Korean shaved ice cream)

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups shaved ice
  • 3 tablespoons simple syrup, see preparation
  • 1 can (450 g) of canned fruit cocktail
  • 1 cup Korean grain mix powder
  • 1 cup Asian red bean paste
  • 0.5 cup thinly sliced ​​kiwi
  • 0.5 cups of multi-colored rice mochi
  • 0.5 cup fresh strawberries, thinly sliced
  • Half a thinly sliced ​​banana
  • 1 scoop of strawberry ice cream
  • 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream
  • 5 tbsp. milk
  • 5 tbsp. strawberry syrup
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 5 tablespoons chocolate sauce
  • 1 cup rainbow glazed puffed cereal
  • 1 maraschino cherry

Preparation:

  1. Place 1/3 cup shaved ice and simple syrup in a large metal bowl. Then, drain the fruit smoothie and add the fruit, grain powder, and red bean paste to the bowl with ice.
  2. Next, add a second layer of shaved ice, spread it out, and top with kiwi, mochi, strawberry, and banana. Then top with a scoop of strawberry and vanilla ice cream. Drizzle with milk and strawberry syrup.
  3. Top with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Sprinkle with cereal and top with a cherry.

    Simple syrup.

    In a small saucepan, combine equal parts sugar and water. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.
