Ingredients:
- 450 g butter
- 450g plus 350g semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 200 g unsweetened chocolate
- 6 very large eggs
- 3 tbsp. l. instant coffee granules
- 2 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2.25 cups sugar
- 1.25 cups premium flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 3 cups chopped walnuts
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
Grease and flour a 30 x 45 x 2.5 cm baking tray.
In a medium bowl, melt the butter with 450g of chocolate chips and unsweetened chocolate over a double boiler. Let cool slightly.
In a large bowl, combine (without whisking) the eggs, instant coffee, vanilla, and sugar. Add the warm chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and let cool to room temperature.
- In a medium bowl, sift 1 cup flour with the baking powder and salt. Add to the cooled chocolate mixture. In a small bowl, combine the walnuts and 12 oz (340 g) chocolate chips with 1/4 cup flour, then fold into the chocolate batter. Pour the batter onto a baking sheet.
