Ingredients:
Cheese sauce
- 240-300 ml of beer
- 1 teaspoon chicken seasoning
- 1 teaspoon chipotle steak seasoning
- 2 cups of grated processed cheese mixture
Chicken
- 2 tbsp. l. olive oil
- 1 white onion, chopped
- 700 g thinly sliced chicken breast
- 1-2 tsp chicken seasoning
- 1/4 cup chicken broth, beer, or water
Sandwiches
- 4 hoagie buns, split at the top
- Mayonnaise
- Cherry Pepper Relish
Chicken seasoning
- 2 tsp chicken seasoning
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 0.5 tsp garlic salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Mix all ingredients
Preparation:
- Cheese sauce:
Combine 8 ounces of beer, chicken seasoning, and chipotle steak seasoning in a saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Gradually add the cheese; cook until the cheese is melted, adding more beer if the sauce is too thick. Keep the sauce warm.
- Chicken:
Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and the onion and cook for 3-5 minutes.
- Add the chicken, drizzle with the remaining olive oil, and sprinkle with chicken seasoning. Cook until the chicken is browned, 5-8 minutes. Pour the chicken broth over the chicken and cook for another minute.
- Innings:
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Spread the chicken and onions among the buns. Drizzle with cheese sauce and add a little relish.
