Grilled chicken wings and spicy honey dipping sauce topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
Spice mix
- 1 tbsp garlic salt
- 0.5 tbsp onion powder
- 0.5 tbsp. l. smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 3 whole chicken wings, cut in half (discard the tips)
- Canola oil to grease the grill
- Brown sugar for sprinkling (about 1/4 cup)
Honey Hot Sauce
- 0.5 cup + 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons Sriracha sauce
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 0.5 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 0.5 tbsp chopped thyme
- 1 cm peeled ginger root, finely chopped
Preparation:
- Spice mix:
Combine garlic salt, onion powder, and smoked paprika in a bowl, then rub the mixture over the wings.
- Brush the grill grate with oil and grill the wings over medium heat, covered with a bowl, until cooked through and golden brown on each side, 10–12 minutes per side and an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Remove the bowl a few minutes before the end of the cooking time and sprinkle the wings with brown sugar.
- Sauce:
In a bowl, combine honey, Sriracha sauce, mirin, Dijon mustard, thyme, and ginger. Brush the wings with a little of the sauce and serve with the remaining sauce.
