Chocolate chip cookies with walnuts topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 220 g unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 0.5 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs at room temperature
- 2 cups premium flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1.5 cups chopped walnuts
- 600 g semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 175°C.
- Using a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter with the white and brown sugars until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla, then the eggs, one at a time, and mix well. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt and add to the butter, mixing with the mixer on low speed. Add the walnuts and chocolate chips.
- Using a 1.5-inch (4.5-cm) ice cream scoop (or 1 heaping tablespoon), scoop the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Wet your fingers with water and lightly flatten the dough. Bake for exactly 15 minutes (the cookies will appear undercooked). Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely.
