Grilled Beef Satay topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 450 g beef tenderloin, cut into 5 cm strips.
- 20 wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
- 1 tbsp. curry powder
- Juice of half a lemon
- Vegetable oil, for grilling
- Coriander leaves, to sprinkle
Preparation:
- Thread the beef pieces onto soaked skewers, piercing each piece in two or more places to prevent it from falling off during grilling. Combine the yogurt, ginger, garlic, curry powder, and lemon juice in a shallow dish.
- Place the beef skewers in the yogurt marinade and turn them over to coat thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate the meat to marinate for 2 hours.
- Place a grill pan over medium heat and brush with oil to prevent sticking. Grill the satay for 3-5 minutes per side, until cooked through and crispy marks are visible. Serve on a large platter, garnished with cilantro.
