Caprese Salad Sandwich topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 340 g fresh mozzarella
- 2 ripe tomatoes (about 450 g)
- 8 slices sourdough bread
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
- A handful of fresh basil leaves
- 110 g thin slices of ham
- 110 g thin slices of salami
Preparation:
- Heat a grill pan on the stovetop or preheat the oven to grill mode.
- Slice the mozzarella into 0.5 cm thick slices and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Core the tomatoes, then slice them crosswise into slices the same thickness as the cheese, season with salt and pepper.
- Toast the bread slices in a grill pan or in the oven, turning as needed, until evenly crisp, about 1 minute. Lightly crush the garlic. Rub one side of each bread slice with garlic and drizzle with olive oil. Coarsely tear the basil leaves. Arrange the mozzarella, basil, tomatoes, ham, and salami on 4 slices of bread and top with the remaining bread slices.
