Ingredients:
Meatballs
- 450 g of sausage mince
- 3 cups baking mix*
- 4 cups grated sharp cheddar
- 1/8 tbsp black pepper
Dip sauce
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp mustard
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (190°C). Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
- Combine all ingredients in a large glass bowl. Mix well with your hands. The mixture will be very lumpy and crumbly. Form into 2.5 cm diameter balls by squeezing the mixture until it holds together, then rolling it between your palms to form balls.
- Place the balls on a baking sheet. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. To prevent sticking, flip the balls with a spatula halfway through baking.
- To prepare the sauce, mix mayonnaise with mustard. Serve with sausage balls.
Note *
Baking mix consists of flour, yeast, baking powder, or baking soda. The dry mix is diluted with water or milk and used to make pancakes, bread, pizza crusts, muffins, or bread puddings. It is sold in the grocery department and comes in 0.4 kg boxes.
