Chocolate-covered fig mice

Ingredients:

  • 220 g semi-sweet or dark chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 8 fresh black figs
  • 8 black licorice ropes, 8 cm long.
  • 16 almond petals
  • 16 orange sprinkle balls

Preparation:

  1. Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring, until completely melted. Let cool slightly.
  2. Dip the figs in melted chocolate, coating them completely; remove with a fork and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Using the remaining melted chocolate, glue a licorice rope to the rounded side of each fig to create tails.
  3. While the chocolate is still wet, attach 2 almond slices to the pointed end of each fig to create ears, then press on 2 orange balls for eyes. Refrigerate the mice for at least 20 minutes before serving.
